A product of your own was absolutely required (usually not an information product) which could take even years to develop by itself. Without a product or service, how can you expect to make an income? This could have taken the form of anything from a book, CD or audio recording. Maybe print and design, or on call services such as clock repair, plumbing, painting, carpet cleaning, etc. And that was the simple route! But when you were all finished, sales were not even guaranteed. I don't know about you but that sounds like a terrible way to get into a cash gifting opportunity.
